About Me

image1 I had an idyllic childhood raised on a farm in beautiful Leochel Cushnie, Aberdeenshire. I was the eldest of 4 children, having 3 younger brothers. Little did I know that by the time I reached my early 20’s my idyllic life would be changed forever by the tragic events that were to befall my family over the next 14 years. It all began with a tragic car accident which killed my youngest brother, leaving my middle brother & their very close friend & neighbour fighting for their lives in hospital, both in comas with severe brain damage. Their friend sadly lost his life 13 months later as a result of his injuries. In the midst of this I had also gone through an abusive marriage & subsequent divorce, leaving me a single parent of my two beautiful boys.

Not content with one fatal car accident, a few years later our family was dealt another fatal blow when my eldest brother was killed on his motorbike. These tragedies took its toll on our family & only 6 weeks after this second accident, my 86 year old Grandad decided to end his own life as he could not cope with what had happened to his two young grandsons. Meanwhile my own beloved Dad developed Parkinson’s disease as a result of the grief & trauma & only 4 years later got out of bed one morning & collapsed & died, not from the Parkinson’s disease but from a broken heart.

In between all this I also lost a close friend to cancer in her early 30’s, leaving 2 young children. By now I was onto my second marriage, which gave me my beautiful daughter, but after living through these terrible tragedies I was in no fit state emotionally to cope with anything or anybody except my children & I found myself binge drinking to blot out the very painful memories & ease the pain. A mutual decision was taken to end the second marriage as we were both making each other miserable.

Eventually after living for many years as what I can only describe as a living zombie, incapable of feeling any emotions whatsoever, I had shut myself down, when a work colleague suggested hypnotherapy to me. After finally plucking up the courage to attend some sessions, it turned out to be the one thing that saved my life & made me whole again. I had several sessions, beginning with relaxation, self confidence & self esteem building, then moving onto grief & trauma removal & finally help with binge drinking. I can honestly say that hypnotherapy transformed my entire life and my own journey of self healing is what led me to want to train to become a Hypnotherapist to help others like I have been helped. Hypnotherapy is something I feel very passionate about.

To anyone reading this & considering hypnotherapy to enhance & improve your life, I sincerely hope my own story & subsequent recovery convinces you to try it for yourself. It is a very powerful healing tool & journey to self transformation.
